Thank you for considering a membership, or renewing your past membership to the Illinois Protective Officials
Conference. IPOC offers its members a variety of resources, education and training, financial benefits and the opportunity
to meet many of your peers in the code industry on a state and national level. IPOC has been serving Code Officials in the
central Illinois region since 1961 and is made up of primarily municipal organizations, although we certainly encourage professional
or associate memberships. Our 2002 membership included 34 jurisdictions and/or associate members, totaling about 190 people.
Below are a few highlights and activities of the organization.
Longtime chapter member of BOCA, and the International Code Council in 2001
Chapter member Illinois Council of Code Administrators (ICCA)
Developed a BOCA student chapter at Illinois State University in 1997
Maintain a Mutual Aid program in which communities currently participate
Maintain an IPOC website at http://ipoc13.tripod.com/
IPOC is an accredited ICC training provider
Produce an IPOC newsletter and an annual membership directory
Established a Scholarship Program to members for continuing education in the code industry
Named BOCA Chapter of the Year in 1996 and 2000
IPOCs primary function is to provide quality education and training to its members and is an accredited BOCA
training provider. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of even numbered months. A business meeting is conducted in the
morning and the remainder of the day is dedicated to code related training. The 2003 meeting schedule is as listed below;
February 5 @ Galesburg (Portland Concrete) August 6 @ Rantoul (ICC Training)
April 3 @ Springfield (Legislative Day) October 1 @ Starved Rock (ICC Training)
June 4 @ Bloomington-Normal (State Farm-ISU) December 3 @ East Peoria (Cracker Barrel)
September 17, 2003 (Scholarship Event) November @ Bloomington (Executive Meeting)
We hope you will renew an existing, or consider a new, membership to the IPOC organization. Please complete
the application and submit it along with the membership fee of $50.00 to the address listed below. It is also very important
to fully complete all of the requested information on the application. This will allow us to provide a comprehensive IPOC
directory to our members early in the year. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you at future meetings.
